Islamabad: Federal Minister Faisal Vawda has resigned from National Assembly after casting vote in senate elections today.

According to details, the lawyer of Vawda tendered his resignation in Islamabad High Court (IHC), where a disqualification case is pending against him.
“After resignation, the disqualification case against Vawda has become ineffective,” his lawyer stated in court.
In the National Assembly, the first vote was cast by PTI's Shafiq Arain while the second one was cast by Faisal Vawda.
In an informal conversation with media after casting vote in senate polls, the PTI leader further that Yousaf Raza Gillani, who is a joint candidate of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) from Islamabad seat, will face historic defeat.
Vawda has been nominated on Sindh seat for senate elections.
The opposition parties had criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) for giving senate ticket to Faisal Vawda due to the case of dual nationality pending against him in Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the last two and a half years.
