Web Desk: The secretary general of Mirpur Mathelo Press Club, Tufail Rind, was killed in an armed attack in Ghotki on Wednesday.
According to the police, Tufail Rind was on his way to drop his children off at school when unidentified assailants opened fire on him. The attack took place on Jarwar Road near Masoo Wah in Mirpur Mathelo.
Police stated that Rind succumbed to his injuries at the scene, and his body has been shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Mirpur Mathelo. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah expressed deep sorrow over the killing of journalist Tufail Rind, remarking that attacks on journalists are attacks on the freedom of the press.
The Chief Minister has directed the Inspector General of Police to submit a detailed report on the incident.
