Pakistan seeks joint projects to benefit from Malaysia's experiences

Kuala Lumpur: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that relations between Pakistan and Malaysia are on new dimensions, and he is looking forward to joint projects to benefit from Malaysia’s experiences.

In a joint news conference with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that this is his first visit to Malaysia. “I thank Malaysian President Dato’ Sri and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for the warm welcome. Malaysia is our second home”.

He stated that Anwar Ibrahim is a personality with outstanding characteristics. Anwar Ibrahim has an important role in making Malaysia a developed country. He is looking forward to joint projects to benefit from your experiences. Anwar Ibrahim’s visit to Pakistan was memorable in terms of bilateral relations.

He added that there were very positive discussions between the two countries, regarding increasing bilateral relations and global issues. This visit will strengthen mutual relations.

Shehbaz Sharif further said that there was a detailed discussion on the Palestine issue, the situation in Gaza. A large number of Pakistani students are studying in Malaysia. I welcome the decision to export halal meat worth $200 million from Pakistan. The trade in halal meat will be further increased with time.

On this occasion, the Pakistani Prime Minister praised the Malaysian Prime Minister's book 'Script' and said that this book will play the role of a bridge between Islamabad and Kuala Lumpur. Nations develop only through hard work, and they will benefit from the experiences of Malaysia.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also read the poems of Allama Iqbal at the request of the Malaysian Prime Minister.

Earlier, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said that there have been brotherly relations with Pakistan since 1957. The relations between the two countries have strengthened over time, and they are promoting relations in various fields, including trade.

He stated that he had a fruitful discussion with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the situation related to peace and security in the region. The serious situation in Palestine, global issues, including the region, were also discussed, and the joint efforts of the two countries for peace will prove fruitful.

Anwar Ibrahim said that peace between Pakistan and India is important for stability in our region, and they will cooperate in every way to control terrorism.

Earlier, a ceremony was held to launch the Urdu translation of the Malaysian Prime Minister’s book ‘Script’, which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also attended.
