Field Marshal warns of dangerous consequences for any misadventure against Pakistan

Rawalpindi: Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, while addressing a special ceremony held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on the completion of one year of Maarka-e-Haq (“Battle of Truth”), said that today is a proud day for the entire nation. He stated that the enemy’s aggression was met with national unity and bravery, and that Pakistan has always thwarted the enemy’s expectations.

A special ceremony was held at GHQ Rawalpindi to mark the first anniversary of Maarka-e-Haq. Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf paid tribute at the martyrs’ memorial and laid flowers, while smartly turned-out contingents of the armed forces presented a salute.

Addressing the first commemorative ceremony of Maarka-e-Haq, Field Marshal Asim Munir said that, by the grace of Almighty Allah, Pakistan, its people, and its armed forces achieved an unprecedented victory in the battle. He described Maarka-e-Haq as a decisive confrontation between two ideologies, in which truth prevailed and falsehood suffered defeat.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir stated that India dreams of changing the regional balance of power by targeting Pakistan through military aggression and diplomatic isolation. However, he said, this dream exceeds India’s capability and status, and Pakistan will never allow it to succeed. He added that India suffered heavy human and financial losses as a result of the conflict and would continue to pay the price in the years to come.

He paid tribute, on behalf of the entire nation and the Pakistan Armed Forces, to all the martyrs and veterans of Maarka-e-Haq, especially the unarmed women, elderly people, and innocent children who lost their lives. He said that the nation regards the sacrifices of its martyrs as a sacred trust, its strength as a responsibility, and its victory as a blessing from Almighty Allah.

The Field Marshal said that the public and national leadership have sent a clear message that no compromise on national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national dignity is acceptable. He stated that Fatah missiles and the “Shaheens” of the Pakistan Air Force successfully targeted more than 26 enemy military installations, adding that, by the grace of Allah, Pakistan’s defence today is completely impregnable against any external aggression.

Warning the enemy, he said that any future adventurism against Pakistan would have consequences that would not be limited, but rather extremely dangerous, far-reaching, and painful. He added that modern and future warfare would consist of multi-domain operations involving long-range weapons, drones, cyber technology, and artificial intelligence.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir also announced that Defence Forces Headquarters had been established to align Pakistan’s armed forces with modern requirements. He described the strategic mutual defence agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as a major milestone in Pakistan’s diplomatic achievements and said that Pakistan is now hosting historic peace negotiations through its effective, responsible, and impartial diplomacy.

He further said that, considering conventional war against Pakistan impossible, India is once again resorting to terrorism. The Field Marshal urged Afghanistan to completely eliminate terrorist sanctuaries and centers operating on its soil.

Paying tribute to the brave people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, as well as to the armed forces and law enforcement agencies, he said that every innocent Pakistani’s blood would be avenged and that the war against terrorism would continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir stated that Pakistan would continue to extend political, diplomatic, and moral support to the people of Kashmir on every front. He said that the nation’s destination is the vision dreamed of by its forefathers. According to him, Pakistan’s green crescent flag is a symbol of hope, and its armed forces are organized and prepared at every moment.

He concluded by saying that the Pakistani nation is the country’s strength, and the armed forces are the nation’s power. The Field Marshal expressed confidence that Pakistan’s future, God willing, is bright and glorious. He said that whenever truth and falsehood confront each other, victory is destined for truth, and that Pakistan was invincible yesterday and, God willing, will remain invincible in the future as well.
