Calling all investors, doctors, scientists, artists and skilled professionals; UAE offers citizenship
Dubai: In a historic move, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has amended its law related to citizenship to allow for the naturalization of foreign investors, innovators and artists.

The new law has been announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The professionals include scientists, engineers, doctors, artists, authors and their families.
He said that the new directives aim to attract talents that contribute to our development journey.
The UAE Cabinet, local Emiri courts and executive councils will nominate those eligible for the citizenship "under clear criteria set for each category", he further explained.
Sheikh Mohammed added that the amendment to law also includes the option to hold dual citizenship.
