Pakistan storm into Asian Games hockey semi-finals after thrashing Oman 7-2

WEB DESK -- Pakistan qualified for the semi-finals of the Asian Games hockey tournament after defeating Oman 7-2 in the quarter-final being played in Japan.

Pakistan made an attacking start and maintained pressure throughout the match. The Green Shirts led 2-1 at half-time before producing a dominant performance in the second half to seal a convincing victory.

Rana Waheed was the star of the match, scoring a hat-trick for Pakistan. Sufyan Khan netted twice, while Ghaznfar Ali and Mohammad Imad scored one goal each.

Pakistan finished second in Pool B with 12 points, behind Malaysia, who topped the group with 15 points.

The national side won four of its five pool matches, with its only defeat coming against Malaysia.

Pakistan scored 28 goals in their five pool matches and conceded eight.
