Dhaka: In the Dhaka Test against Bangladesh, Pakistan reached 179 for 1 at stumps on the second day in reply to Bangladesh’s first-innings total of 413.

In response, debutant opener Azan Awais shared a 106-run opening partnership with Imam-ul-Haq before Imam was dismissed for 45.
First-time Test player Abdullah Fazal then joined Azan at the crease, and the pair added another 73 runs for the second wicket. By the close of play, Pakistan had scored 179 for 1.
Azan Awais remained unbeaten on 85, while Abdullah Fazal was not out on 37. Bangladesh still hold a lead of 234 runs over Pakistan.
Earlier, Bangladesh were dismissed for 413 in their first innings at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in the opening Test match.
For the hosts, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto top-scored with 101, while Mominul Haque made 91.
For Pakistan, Mohammad Abbas claimed five wickets, while Shaheen Afridi took three. Hasan Ali and Nauman Ali picked up one wicket each.
Pakistan had earlier won the toss and elected to bowl first.
