He added that the respect and honor Pakistan has earned through this achievement is rarely granted to any country over centuries.
According to details, federal cabinet members began their meeting by applauding the Prime Minister for his pivotal role in securing a ceasefire between Iran and the United States and bringing both sides to the negotiating table. The cabinet session opened with enthusiastic applause for Shehbaz Sharif.
Speaking at the session, the Prime Minister said that media around the world has praised Pakistan’s role in paving the way for peace. He added that such unprecedented coordination between the civilian and military leadership has not been seen in the past 40 years.
He emphasized that thanks to this harmony, Pakistan has achieved a major milestone and its identity as a peace-loving nation has strengthened globally. The Prime Minister congratulated the nation and said that Pakistan’s comprehensive and successful strategy successfully brought the warring parties to the negotiating table.
During the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif thanked the American and Iranian leadership for agreeing to the ceasefire and welcomed the delegations to Islamabad on Friday for negotiations, hoping they would pave the way for lasting peace.
He expressed deep gratitude for Pakistan’s diplomatic success, noting that Field Marshal Asim Munir stayed awake many nights to oversee the process. Cabinet members also paid tribute to the Field Marshal by tapping on their desks.
The Prime Minister added that attempts were made to pit brother against brother in the war, but Iran and the U.S. leadership responded positively. He emphasized that the respect Pakistan has received is for the entire nation, not any single individual.
He acknowledged China’s full support for peace efforts and expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Turkey, Indonesia, Egypt, Azerbaijan, and the UAE for backing Pakistan’s diplomatic role.
