Ceasefire agreed:PM Shehbaz invites US and Iranian delegations to Islamabad for talks
PM expressed hope that the “Islamabad Talks” will succeed in achieving lasting peace and lead to more positive outcomes.


Islamabad: Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, while welcoming the ceasefire in the Middle East, has invited American and Iranian delegations to visit Islamabad on April 10 for negotiations.
According to details, following the agreement on a ceasefire between the parties, the Prime Minister said in a message posted on social media that he is pleased, with great humility, to announce that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States, along with their allies, have agreed to an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon and other areas.
In his statement, he welcomed this positive development and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the leadership of both countries. He also invited delegations from both sides to Islamabad on Friday, April 10, 2026, for further talks aimed at resolving all disputes and reaching a final agreement.
The Prime Minister further stated that both sides have demonstrated remarkable wisdom and understanding and have engaged constructively to promote peace and stability. He expressed hope that the “Islamabad Talks” will succeed in achieving lasting peace and lead to more positive outcomes.
It is worth noting that the Prime Minister had requested Donald Trump to extend the deadline for potential strikes on Iran by two weeks to allow diplomacy a chance. He had also urged Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for the same period, to which both sides have agreed.
