England thrash Pakistan by 37 runs in Under-19 World Cup face-off

Harare: England Under-19 defeated Pakistan Under-19 by 37 runs in a thrilling World Cup encounter.

In the match played in Harare, the Green Shirts were chasing a target of 211 runs but were all out for 173 in the 47th over.

Pakistan won the toss and opted to field first. Despite a strong bowling effort from the Pakistani side, the English batters were able to post 210 runs before being dismissed in the 47th over. England’s Falconer top-scored with 66 runs.

For Pakistan, Ahmed Hussain took 3 wickets, while Ali Raza, Abdul Subhan, and Momin Qamar claimed 2 wickets each.

Chasing 211, Pakistan’s openers Samir Minhas and Mohammad Shayan fell cheaply with the score at 23, followed by Usman Khan (6) and Ahmed Hussain (12). The Pakistani batting line struggled to build partnerships, and the team was eventually bowled out for 173, falling short by 37 runs.

Captain Farhan Yousuf was the standout performer for Pakistan, scoring 65 runs.

For England, Alex Green, Albert, and James Mento took 2 wickets each to restrict Pakistan’s chase.
