On average, around seven cases of plague are reported annually in the US, mostly originating from western states

(Web Desk): A man has died from the plague in Coconino County, located in northern Arizona.
Authorities have confirmed that the individual was infected with pneumonic plague, considered the most severe and easily transmissible form of the disease.
This marks the first death from pneumonic plague in the United States since 2007.
On average, around seven cases of plague are reported annually in the US, mostly originating from western states.
The plague is commonly known as the "Black Death," a disease that claimed millions of lives in 14th-century Europe. Between 1346 and 1353 alone, it wiped out up to 60% of the population across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. However, the disease is treatable today with modern medicine.
The last time plague reached epidemic levels in the US was between 1924 and 1925 in Los Angeles.
