The total weight of the seized betel nut is 3,001 kilograms

Karachi: Mochko police have foiled an attempt to smuggle betel nut worth millions of rupees.
According to SSP Keamari Faizan Ali, during a routine check at the Mochko checkpoint, police inspected a cement-loaded truck coming from the Hub post. The truck appeared to be carrying 340 sacks of cement.
Upon inspection, only 193 sacks were found to contain cement, while the remaining 147 sacks were filled with betel nut.
The total weight of the seized betel nut is 3,001 kilograms. The contraband was being smuggled into Karachi hidden inside sacks under the guise of cement transportation.
The betel nut was intended for distribution across various areas of the city, where it would be used in the production of gutka, mawa, and other substances. The operation successfully prevented its distribution.
During the raid, the truck driver, Muhammad Nasir son of Abdul Sattar, was taken into custody, and the truck was handed over to customs authorities.
