For K-Electric users, electricity prices have been cut by Rs4.03 per unit under the April 2025 FPA

(Web Desk): Electricity consumers across Pakistan, including those in Karachi, have received welcome relief as NEPRA announces a reduction in power tariffs.
For K-Electric users, electricity prices have been cut by Rs4.03 per unit under the April 2025 Fuel Price Adjustment (FPA). Meanwhile, consumers of government-run DISCOs will see a Rs0.50 per unit decrease in their May 2025 electricity bills.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) issued separate notifications confirming the reductions following hearings on fuel charge adjustment requests from K-Electric and other power distribution companies. The companies had proposed a decrease of Rs4.60 per unit under the FCA mechanism.
NEPRA's decision comes as part of its regular monthly tariff review process based on fuel costs, providing some financial relief to electricity consumers amid rising living costs. The updated rates will be applicable as per the respective billing cycles.
