Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry affirms Pakistan’s nuclear programme is fully secure and that no one would dare target it

Rawalpindi: India is pursuing state-sponsored terrorism against Pakistan as a matter of official policy, said Pakistan Army spokesperson, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has said.
He asserted that the mastermind behind this Indian-backed terror network is Ajit Doval. Gen Chaudhry also affirmed that Pakistan’s nuclear program is fully secure and that no one would dare target it.
According to Al Jazeera, the ISPR DG made these remarks following last month’s bombing in Waziristan, for which the outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also referred to as Fitnat al-Khawarij, claimed responsibility.
The attack resulted in the martyrdom of 16 soldiers and injured more than 20 others. Pakistan maintains a clear stance that India is directly involved in such attacks, providing support and funding for terrorist activities within the country.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, the DG ISPR stated that the term Khawarij has recently been widely adopted by the Pakistani military and media. He explained that Khawarij refers to armed groups that attack the state and its military, and that the current Fitnat al-Khawarij is a continuation of a misguided ideology responsible for the killing of Muslims under false religious pretexts.
Gen Chaudhry emphasissed that in Islam, the authority to declare jihad or armed conflict rests solely with the state—no individual, organization, or group holds that right. Fitnat al-Khawarij has no connection with Islam, humanity, Pakistan, or its cultural values. He further noted that the term Fitnat al-Hindustan is used in Pakistan to describe terrorists who receive support from India.
He added that Fitnat al-Hindustan is particularly active in destabilizing the province of Balochistan. Pakistan views any aggression against an Islamic state as a threat to regional stability. He also pointed out that India’s political leadership has, on multiple occasions, openly admitted to supporting terrorism in Pakistan.
The DG ISPR reiterated that Ajit Doval is the mastermind behind India-backed terrorist operations and mentioned that countries such as the United States and Canada have acknowledged India’s role in state-sponsored terrorism.
According to Al Jazeera, the ISPR DG also reaffirmed Pakistan’s political and diplomatic support for Iran in the face of Israeli aggression.
Regarding Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities, he said the program is fully secure and immune from any external threat. “No one can dare target our nuclear assets,” he stated. “Pakistan is a responsible, declared nuclear power. Our nuclear capability is invincible and reflects the strength of our national defense and confidence in the current regional balance.”
