Celebrations will send a clear message to the world that Pakistan stands proud, strong, and committed to its sovereignty

Independence Day 2025 to be celebrated as “Marqa-e-Haq”

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed to celebrate this year's Independence Day under the theme 'Maarka-e-Haq as a tribute to resilience and unity of the entire nation in the face of unprovoked Indian aggression.      

A preliminary meeting was held in Islamabad today with Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal in the chair to plan the celebrations.

Senior representatives from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Ministries of Information & Broadcasting, Interior, National Heritage & Culture,  Education, Inter Provincial Coordination and other departments participated in the meeting.

The Minister said the celebrations will send a clear message to the world that Pakistan stands proud, strong, and committed to its sovereignty.                 

He added that the government aims to highlight the steady progress being made in economic recovery, defence resilience and international recognition of Pakistan's achievements.

Ahsan Iqbal directed the Chairman HEC and Secretary Education to ensure that all universities and schools should celebrate the day in the same format. The same was advised for celebrations across the provinces and abroad in collaboration with the Overseas Ministry.                                

He said these celebration will honor the spirit of 'Marqa-e-Haq', where our armed forces, our citizens, government, and every institution stood together. 

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said the nation stands as united, unshaken, and ready to defeat any designs against it.  He said our civil and military forces are shoulder to shoulder and these celebrations will reiterate our unity and strength. 

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar shared that extensive plans are underway with song competitions, special programs and a documentary.

Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, said our schools and students are full of passion and excitement to celebrate the day. He said debates, essay competitions, painting competitions and many other exciting initiatives will be organized in educational institutions.

During the meeting, participants shared a range of proposals to ensure that the celebrations reflect the hearts of ordinary Pakistanis and involve everyone.

The government invites every Pakistani, young and old to join in these celebrations and show the world the strength, pride, and love of a nation united in its past and confident in its future.
