YouTube Shorts to get powerful AI video tool Veo 3
This video generation tool will soon be available for free to YouTube Shorts users

(Web Desk): If you enjoy creating YouTube Shorts, artificial intelligence (AI) technology is about to make the process much easier.
Google’s DeepMind AI video generation model, Veo 3, is being integrated into YouTube Shorts.
In fact, with Veo 3, you will soon be able to create YouTube Shorts even without any expertise in camera work or video editing.
YouTube CEO Neal Mohan announced that Veo 3 will become a part of YouTube Shorts sometime during the summer.
Speaking at the Cannes Lions Film Festival, Neal Mohan said that AI offers limitless possibilities — anyone with a story to share can now turn their dream into a career.
This means users will be able to simply input text prompts and generate short videos ready to post on YouTube Shorts, all without needing a camera or editing skills.
Currently, YouTube already offers tools like Veo 2 and Dream Screen for background generation in Shorts, but Veo 3 is a major upgrade.
This AI tool can generate full video clips — including both audio and visuals — based entirely on written instructions, and the output feels remarkably realistic.
As of now, Veo 3 is available only to users of Google’s AI Pro or AI Ultra programs, both of which require a monthly subscription.
However, this video generation tool will soon be available for free to YouTube Shorts users.
With this tool, many more users may be able to start earning from YouTube, although it may impact the earnings of those currently monetizing Shorts.
Estimates suggest that over 25% of creators in the YouTube Partner Program currently earn revenue from Shorts.
