India violates ceasefire at LoC, Pakistan responds with force

(Web Desk): India has once again resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC), violating the ceasefire agreement during the night between April 29 and 30.

According to security sources, Indian forces carried out unprovoked firing in the Kiani and Mandal sectors of the LoC, using small arms. In response, the Pakistan Army gave a strong retaliatory response, destroying several Indian posts and silencing their guns.

Security sources further revealed that the Pakistan Army destroyed India’s Chakpatra post during the counteraction.

Earlier, state media reports indicated that four Indian Rafale fighter jets had been spotted patrolling occupied Jammu and Kashmir during the same night. According to the state broadcaster, PTV News, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) jets immediately detected the enemy aircraft. Due to the PAF’s timely action, the Indian Rafale jets reportedly fled in panic.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar previously stated that credible intelligence reports suggested India was planning a military strike against Pakistan within the next 24 to 36 hours, following the Pahalgam attack in occupied Kashmir last week, which increased tensions between the two countries.

It is worth noting that after the attack on local tourists in Pahalgam, India started making baseless accusations and provocative moves. Among them were the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and ordering Pakistan’s diplomatic staff to leave India by April 30, 2025. The Modi government also took several aggressive steps, including cancelling Pakistani visas.

In response, Pakistan’s National Security Committee adopted a robust diplomatic strategy and reduced India’s diplomatic staff to 30 personnel. The committee emphasized that water is Pakistan’s lifeline, and any attempt to cut it off would be considered an act of war.

This escalation of tensions between two nuclear powers in South Asia has sparked global concern. Pakistan has also accused its regional rival of being behind the recent Jaafar Express attack at the United Nations. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had earlier expressed willingness to accept impartial investigations into the Pahalgam incident, but India continues to display its traditional intransigence instead of pursuing peace.

Both the US State Department and UN Secretary-General António Guterres have urged both nations to de-escalate the situation, but India maintains its rigid stance.
