President Zardari and PM Shehbaz 'agree' on imposition of emergency in KP: sources
The federal cabinet is likely to approve the imposition of an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tomorrow


ISLAMABAD -- Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad, today to discuss the overall political and security situation of the country with particular focus on imposing an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The federal cabinet is likely to approve the imposition of an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tomorrow. Sessions of both houses of Parliament have also been summoned to ratify the emergency declaration.
According to sources, a meeting of the federal cabinet has been scheduled for 9:30am. tomorrow, during which approval for imposing an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is expected to be sought.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr, where they discussed the country’s overall political and security situation.

The prime minister was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar and Federal Minister Ahad Cheema.
Senator Sherry Rehman, Syed Naveed Qamar, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla and Dr. Asim Hussain were also present on the occasion.
It was agreed in the meeting to separately summon sessions of the Senate and the National Assembly on Tuesday.
