Pakistan Navy, Coast Guards thwart major smuggling attempt in Balochistan

KARACHI -- Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards, in coordination with Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC), thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large cache of contraband items in Pishukan area, Balochistan.

According to the ISPR, acting on actionable intelligence, the joint operation resulted in the confiscation of a sizeable quantity of liquor and illegal medicines. The seized contraband items have been handed over to Pakistan Coast Guards for further legal proceedings.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has commended Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards for successfully foiling a major smuggling attempt in Pishukan, Balochistan.

In a statement, he emphasized that coordination among institutions is of utmost importance to root out the menace of smuggling from the country.

The Prime Minister also appreciated the professionalism, vigilance and preparedness of the personnel who took part in the operation.
