Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that Iran is ready to reach an agreement if the United States presents a genuine deal.


Islamabad: An Iranian delegation led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has arrived in Islamabad to participate in peace talks with the United States, being hosted and mediated by Pakistan. The delegation was warmly received at the airport by Field Marshal Asim Munir, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the Iranian delegation includes Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, the Secretary of the Defence Council, the Governor of the Central Bank, and other members of parliament.
The spokesperson added that Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar expressed hope that all parties would move forward with the negotiations in a constructive manner. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating dialogue for a sustainable and long-term resolution of the conflict.
According to Iranian officials, the delegation has arrived in Pakistan for negotiations with US representatives. The delegation also includes officials dealing with security, political, military, economic, and legal affairs, who will engage in discussions on multiple aspects.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that Iran is ready to reach an agreement if the United States presents a genuine deal. He noted that previous negotiations with the US involved broken promises, but added that Iran has come with optimism. He emphasized that if the US recognizes Iran’s rights, an agreement can be achieved.
