Meetings were held at observatories in various cities across the Kingdom to sight the Shawwal moon

Web Desk: The moon for Shawwal was not sighted in Saudi Arabia, therefore Eid al-Fitr will be observed on Friday, 20 March.
Meetings were held at observatories in various cities across the Kingdom to sight the Shawwal moon. The Saudi Supreme Court had also urged citizens to participate in the moon-sighting effort; however, no confirmed sightings were reported from anywhere in the country.
After reviewing all reports received from observatories and moon-sighting committees across the Kingdom, the Supreme Court officially announced that Ramadan 1447 AH will complete 30 days, and Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Friday, 20 March 2026.
Following the non-sighting of the moon, Friday, 20 March, will mark the 1st of Shawwal 1447 AH.
UAE and Qatar also announce Eid on Friday
Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar have also announced that Eid al-Fitr will fall on Friday, 20 March.
Meetings were held in both countries to sight the Shawwal moon, but after it was not sighted, authorities declared that 20 March will be the first day of Shawwal 1447 AH.
