The ban has been suggested under Section 11-B(1) of the Anti-Terrorism Act.


Islamabad:The federal cabinet has approved the imposition of a ban on religious political party Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).
According to sources, the federal cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during which approval was granted to ban TLP. The cabinet has directed the Ministry of Interior to carry out the necessary procedural steps.
Sources revealed that the Punjab government had recommended a ban on TLP.
Following this, a meeting of the federal cabinet was convened to consider the proposal to outlaw the religious party.
As per sources, the ban on TLP has been proposed under Section 11-B(1) of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
According to the charge sheet, TLP leaders delivered hate speeches, while the organization was involved in sectarian extremism and acts of violence against minorities. It was also stated that TLP mobs engaged in violent acts and caused damage to public property.
The recommendations from the Ministry of Interior also included a report detailing the damages caused by TLP workers during violent protests. Following these incidents, the Punjab government requested the federal government to impose a ban on TLP.
