Islamabad court cancels non-bailable arrest warrants issued against Gandapur after his lawyer appeared before court

Rawalpindi: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Ali Amin Gandapur met Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail on Monday.
CM Gandapur arrived at Adiala Jail, where he was allowed to meet Khan in the jail’s conference room. The meeting lasted for more than two hours, after which the KP chief minister left the facility.
Arrest warrants against Gandapur cancelled
The Islamabad District and Sessions Court cancelled the non-bailable arrest warrants issued against CM Gandapur after his lawyer appeared before the court. The warrants had been issued in connection with an audio leak case.
The case was heard by Additional District and Sessions Judge Nasir Minallah. During the hearing, Gandapur’s counsel, Raja Zahoorul Hassan, argued that the Peshawar High Court had barred his client’s arrest in any case for a period of three weeks.
The judge responded, “File an application and I will review it.” Subsequently, the defence submitted a request for cancellation of the warrants, which the court accepted.
The court further directed Gandapur to appear at the next hearing. Later, proceedings in the audio leak case were adjourned until November 5. The case against him had been registered at Golra Police Station.
