Flood in Jalalpur: Urban dam in danger, several settlements affected

Multan: The situation in Jalalpur tehsil of Multan is getting worse. The urban dam that saves the city is in serious danger. The dam is being strengthened with the help of cranes and other machinery.

Flood disasters are continuing in Jalalpur tehsil of Multan. The ruthless floodwaters have reached the urban dam that saves the city after breaking the public dam and the protective dam of the Shah Rasool Wala village.

The villages that are completely submerged in Jalalpur include Shahni Miani, Khan Bela, Kot Imam Din, Darabpur, Kurman Wali, Shujaatpur, Bet Mughal, Jhanbow Wala, Umar Pur, Manak Wali, and Shahpur Lama. The citizens demanded that the administration immediately make the urban dam safe.

The administration is also trying its best to save Jalalpur city. Small bridges were broken on the Uch Sharif Road and the water was diverted towards the villages, which has reduced the water level. So far, 64 villages and hundreds of settlements have been severely affected by the floodwaters.

The Deputy Commissioner says that the process of shifting the citizens to safer places is underway in collaboration with the army.

Jalalpur Pirwala tehsil is being damaged by the Ravi River towards Bahawalpur and the Chenab River towards Muzaffargarh Jatoi, and these two rivers are coming together at Shahpur Lama and Bet Qaiser, which is increasing the destruction.
