(Web Desk): Early morning showers were reported in various parts of Karachi today. Rainfall occurred in areas including Saddar, Guru Mandir, Lasbela, Golimar, and Nazimabad. Light rain was also reported in Shahrah-e-Faisal, Defence, Qayyumabad, and Korangi, bringing a pleasant change to the weather.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued an alert for heavy rainfall today and tomorrow. According to the PMD, a weather system passing near Karachi could bring over 100 mm of rain. The department also warned of a potential risk of urban flooding in the city due to the heavy downpours.

Between 11 a.m. yesterday and 8 a.m. today, Karachi recorded 9.3 mm of rainfall.

Meanwhile, intermittent rain continued overnight in Hyderabad, submerging several areas. The rain also disrupted power supply in many parts of the city.

In light of the weather conditions, all public and private educational institutions in Hyderabad will remain closed today, as per a notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner.

In Thatta, heavy rain has inundated low-lying areas and overwhelmed the drainage system, causing widespread water accumulation.
