CM Buzdar announces recruitment in CTD, inaugurates counter violent extremism and training schools blocks
Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar Tuesday inaugurated the counter violent extremism (CVE) and CTD training schools blocks during his visit to the headquarters of the Counter Terrorism Department.

He also inaugurated the CTD helpline (0800-11111) and inspected different sections during his visit.

The chief minister announced recruitment on new posts, provision of land for CTD headquarters as well as construction of field offices in 10 districts.
Speaking on the occasion, he said roads would be constructed on a priority basis to approach the headquarters office and that the CTD would also be provided drone, GSM locator, sniping rifles and other equipment along with setting up of a bomb disposal unit to fight terrorism.
Buzdar distributed cash prizes and commendation certificates among the officers for showing exemplary performance and announced two months’ salary as an honorarium for the CTD force.
He also attended a mock operation against terrorists and commandos’ firing skills at the firing range. The CM, IG Police and Principal Secretary to CM also practised shooting on this occasion.

The CM appreciated the strong role played by CTD in combating terrorism adding that it exposed the network involved in terrorism in Lahore and the criminals have been brought under the net of the law. Different CTD needs will also be fulfilled as the department has wonderfully performed to eliminate terrorists and maintain peace in the province.
"The trained CTD officials are working with zeal to protect the citizens," he added.
Earlier, the CM was presented guard of honor by a smartly turned out contingent of CTD. He also planted a sampling and was briefed by Additional IG (CTD) about departmental performance. The ACS (Home) and others were also present.
