Relief operations are actively underway

(Web Desk): In Balochistan, seven people lost their lives and another seven were injured in various incidents caused by recent monsoon rains. Torrential rains and flooding damaged 22 houses across multiple districts.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) released a report detailing the damage caused by the ongoing monsoon spell in the province. According to the report, flash floods in Washuk completely destroyed five homes and caused significant damage to houses and agricultural land.
In Loralai, strong winds damaged several solar panels, while in Surab, heavy rains and gusty winds also caused damage to homes and solar infrastructure. In Musakhel, a person was killed after being struck by lightning.
PDMA officials stated that surveys are ongoing to assess further damage in the affected districts, and relief operations are actively underway.
The second spell of the monsoon season is currently in effect across Balochistan and other parts of the country, with rain expected to continue until July 10.
The Meteorological Department has warned of potential flash flooding in local streams and rivers in Murree, Galiyat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Buner, Chitral, and Dir due to heavy rainfall. Flash flood risks also exist in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Dera Ghazi Khan, northeastern Punjab, Kashmir, and parts of Balochistan.
Authorities have also cautioned that intense rainfall could cause landslides in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galiyat, and Kashmir. Low-lying areas in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Nowshera, and Peshawar may face urban flooding as well.
