13 lions have been seized


Lahore: Following the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, citizens keeping lions without a license have come to the attention of the Wildlife Department.
According to the details, starting a major crackdown against illegal lion keepers across Punjab, 22 places have been inspected across Punjab since yesterday to 10:00am today, during which 13 lions have been seized, 5 people have been arrested, 5 cases have been registered, and the process of registering 2 cases is underway.
In the action of the Wildlife Department, four lions have been recovered from Lahore, and four people have been arrested, one enclosure has also been sealed, and three cases have been registered.
Similarly, four lions have been recovered from Gujranwala, and a case is being registered. Two lions have been taken into custody from Faisalabad, one enclosure has been sealed, and one case is under completion.
So far, three lions have been recovered from Multan, one person has been arrested, and two cases have been registered.
The Wildlife Department says that illegal wildlife trade is intolerable, and public safety will not be compromised. Keeping tigers illegally is not only a crime but also a threat to society. wildlife laws will be strictly enforced; no one is above the law.
Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb says that under the zero tolerance policy, indiscriminate operations will continue across Punjab, appealing to the public to report illegal tigers on 1107 so that timely action can be taken.
