Israel-Iran ceasefire: President Trump officially nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

Washington: US President Donald Trump has been officially nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize 2026.

According to US media, Republican Congressman Buddy Carter from Georgia has written a letter to the Nobel Committee to nominate President Trump.

President Trump was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his role in the Israel-Iran ceasefire.

In the letter, Buddy Carter wrote that Trump should be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his extraordinary and historic role in preventing the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism from acquiring the most deadly weapons and ending the armed conflict between Israel and Iran.

It is pertinent to note that earlier, Pakistan had also sent a letter of recommendation to the Norwegian Nobel Committee to award the Nobel Peace Prize to US President Trump.

The Pakistani government said that the Pakistan-India war was averted due to US President Trump's intervention, and the decision to recommend the Nobel Peace Prize 2026 was made based on President Trump's decisive diplomatic intervention in the recent Pakistan-India crisis.

Trump had said that he should get the Nobel Prize for ending the war between Pakistan and India, but only liberals get the Nobel Prize; they will not give it to him.

Notably, during the war between Pakistan and India last month, on May 10, Donald Trump had announced on his social media platform, Truth Social, that Pakistan and India had agreed to a ceasefire.

And now, President Trump has also announced a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.
