Two robbers killed in ‘police encounter’ in Karachi

(Web Desk): Two suspected robbers were killed in an alleged police encounter in the Gulshan-e-Maymar area of Karachi. Meanwhile, in Manghopir and Peerabad, targeted operations by police led to the demolition of drug dens and the arrest of several individuals.

On the other hand, Malir Cantonment Police arrested five police personnel involved in a kidnapping-for-ransom case.

According to initial reports, police stated that two robbers were killed during an alleged encounter in Gulshan-e-Maymar.

According to the Special Security Unit (SSU), the robbers were fleeing after robbing a citizen.

Targeted operations were also conducted in Manghopir and Peerabad, during which an exchange of fire occurred between police and drug traffickers. Several drug dens were demolished, and multiple suspects were taken into custody.

Separately, Malir Cantonment Police conducted a successful operation and arrested five police officers allegedly involved in a kidnapping-for-ransom case.

The arrested officers are accused of kidnapping a citizen and demanding a ransom of several hundred thousand rupees. The victim, identified as Madad Ali, had gone missing from Bilawal Jokhio Goth the previous day.

Malir Cantonment Police swiftly acted and recovered the kidnapped individual.

According to police officials, the victim was held in illegal custody for several hours. The suspects confessed to both the abduction and the demand for ransom.

Police have registered a case against the arrested officers, and investigations are currently underway.
