Zalmi failed to qualify for PSL playoffs for first time


Rawalpindi: Lahore Qalandars qualified for the playoffs by defeating Peshawar Zalmi in the 29th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10.
The match played in Rawalpindi started late due to wind and rain, and the match was reduced to 13 overs. Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and decided to field first.
Batting first, Lahore Qalandars scored 149 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 13 overs.
For Lahore Qalandars, Fakhar Zaman scored 60, Muhammad Naeem scored 22, Asif Ali scored 18, and Kushal Perera scored 17 runs.
Ahmed Daniyal, Ali Raza, and Daniel Sims took two wickets each for Peshawar Zalmi.
Chasing Lahore Qalandars’ target of 150 runs, Peshawar Zalmi’s team could score 123 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 13 overs. Daniel Sims scored 26, and Ahmed Daniyal scored 24.
Lahore defeated Zalmi by 26 runs to qualify for the playoffs and also eliminated Zalmi from the race for the trophy.
Peshawar Zalmi failed to qualify for the PSL playoffs for the first time.
With the victory of Qalandars, the line-up for the PSL 10 playoffs has been completed. Three teams, Karachi Kings, Islamabad United, and Quetta Gladiators, had already reached the play-off stage.
Multan Sultans had already been eliminated from the race for the trophy.
