Islamabad’s Secretariat Chowk turns into war-zone following clashes between police, govt employees
Islamabad: Clashes broke out between police and protesting government employees at Islamabad’s Secretariat Chowk, who are staging a demonstration against non-increase in salaries.

According to details, hundreds of government employees from various departments all over the country accompanied by people from different segments of society are staging a protest in federal capital against not raising salaries.
Police is trying to disperse the protestors by firing tear gas, which was reciprocated by shelling from the protestors.
The security officers have also arrested several leaders of the protesters from outside the secretariat in order to contain the protest.
The local administration has also blocked several roads in Federal Capital by placing containers which has disrupted traffic.
Traffic on both sides of the road from Express Chowk to D-Chowk on Jinnah Avenue has been diverted to an alternative route.
