Action has been taken against illegal crane hunting


Lahore: Following the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, the Wildlife Department conducted a combing operation and recovered eight cranes.
A statement from the Wildlife Department said that at the instructions of Maryam Nawaz, they conducted a combing operation in Darya Khan Bhakkar, adjacent to the Indus River.
The hunters fled after leaving their belongings behind as the Wildlife Department Punjab team arrived at the scene.
The spokesperson said that action has been taken against illegal crane hunting. According to the Wildlife Act, the cranes is a protected wildlife.
The raiding team set fire to the hunting hide and confiscated all the hunting equipment.
During the operation, the department recovered eight cranes that were being used to hunt other cranes migrating to Siberia.
Following this action, a case has been registered against three accused.
