Islamabad: Two additional judges took oath in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday.
Chief Justice IHC Aamer Farooq administered the oath to Additional Judges Raja Inam Amin Minhas and Muhammad Azam Khan.
The oath-taking ceremony was attended by judges of the Islamabad High Court, judicial officers, Bar Council, and Bar Association officials.
It is pertinent to note that two days ago, with the approval of President Asif Ali Zardari, the Ministry of Law issued a notification for the appointment of judges, according to which Raja Inam and Azam Khan were appointed as Additional Judges in the IHC.
The notification of the Ministry of Law stated that both judges are appointed to the Islamabad High Court for one year.
Notably, a few days ago, a meeting of the Judicial Commission was held under the chairmanship of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi in which the names of Sessions Judge Azam Khan and former President of the IHC Bar Raja Inam Amin Minhas were agreed upon.
