‘Don't tell me to stay out of your affairs’; Meena Harris hits back at extremist Indians
Washington: Meena Harris, an American lawyer and niece of US vice president Kamala Harris, has lashed out at Indians after facing backlash for supporting protesting farmers.

While sharing a picture of hers being burnt by extremist Hindu mob, she wrote that she can’t imagine living in India.
She went on to say that a 23-year old year old labor rights activist Nodeep Kaur was arrested, tortured & sexually assaulted in police custody.
Weird to see a photo of yourself burned by an extremist mob but imagine what they would do if we lived in India. I'll tell you—23 yo labor rights activist Nodeep Kaur was arrested, tortured & sexually assaulted in police custody. She's been detained without bail for over 20 days. pic.twitter.com/Ypt2h1hWJz

Meena added that “the issue isn't just about agricultural policy but it's also about the persecution of a vocal religious minority”.
While terming the situation in India as police violence, militant nationalism, and attacks on labor rights, she added, “Don't tell me to stay out of your affairs”.
This isn't just about agricultural policy. It's also about the persecution of a vocal religious minority. It's police violence, militant nationalism, and attacks on labor rights. It's global authoritarianism. Don't tell me to stay out of your affairs. These are all of our issues.

On February 03, Meena Harris and some international celebrities came out in support of the farmers, who are protesting against the newly passed agricultural laws which they think will lead to commercialization of agriculture, making farmers extremely vulnerable to corporate greed.
It’s no coincidence that the world’s oldest democracy was attacked not even a month ago, and as we speak, the most populous democracy is under assault. This is related. We ALL should be outraged by India’s internet shutdowns and paramilitary violence against farmer protesters. https://t.co/yIvCWYQDD1 pic.twitter.com/DxWWhkemxW
