Lahore: The government of Punjab has taken principle decision to implement the Integrated Public Prosecution System in the province.
A special meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, in which she was given a detailed briefing about the prosecution department. Suggestions and recommendations were presented in the meeting to improve the prosecution affairs.
In the meeting, the ‘Set of Skills’ project for the professional competence of prosecutors was presented. The proposals to implement a digital system for setting performance indicators of prosecutors were also considered in the meeting.
During the meeting, it was stated that the implementation of the new system will enable the performance score to be checked to determine the performance of the prosecutors. A transparent grading of the performance of the prosecutor will be done.
Speaking during the meeting, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz said: “It is necessary to eliminate corruption in the investigation system, adding that the legal standard of First Information Report (FIR) should be improved”.
