The basic rights of farmers are being finished amid not buying the wheat on official price.


Lahore: The Punjab government’s initiative of not buying wheat from farmers has challenged in Lahore high court.
According to the details, the plea was filed by Farhat Manzoor Chandio advocate in which chief secretary Punjab including others have become parties.
It is stated in the plea that the government is restricted to buy wheat on official price from farmers. The policy was issued for buying wheat in Rs3,900. The government was supposed to start the buying of wheat from farmers from April 22.
However, the government did not start the buying of wheat from farmers in accordance with the policy of the authority.
The applicant said that the farmers are forced to sell wheat to mafia in cheap rates due to the rains. The basic rights of farmers are being finished amid not buying the wheat on official price.
It is pleaded in the petition that the court order to buy wheat from farmers to government and the orders should be issued of action against wheat mafia.
