The overall revenue collection during the current fiscal year till August end stands at Rs27.8 billion that is higher than Rs20.59 billion generated during the same period last year with 35 percent growth.
This indicates a promising performance during the first quarter of FY2022-23.
Accoridng to a press release, the Authority didn't resort to any coercive measures for collection of taxes rather it focused on taxpayer’s education and facilitation through training workshops and PRA’s own online Complaint/ Facilitation Portal.
The Authority is also focusing upon broadening of tax base through registration of new taxpayers.
According to a PRA spokesperson, the consistent upward trend in revenue collection suggests that the Authority will achieve its assigned targets successfully through adopting strategies of taxpayer’s facilitation and education duly complemented by broadening of tax base.
