Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has summoned an important meeting on Friday (today) to discuss the allegations levelled by Prime Minister Imran Khan during his address to the nation.

The ECP on Thursday took notice of Prime Minister's address to the nation on the state television in which he was accusing it of protecting the sale of votes and bringing harm to democracy through secret ballot.
He also criticized the Supreme Court for opposing open voting and identifiable ballot papers for Senate polls.
Today's meeting is chaired by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja. The meeting will also review allegations of horse-trading leveled by Imran Khan and several Federal Ministers.
As per sources, ECP have also obtained a copy of the video message.
Earlier on Wednesday, in the most highlighted and awaited contest of Senate elections, former Prime Minister and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) joint candidate Yousuf Raza Gillani thumped PTI candidate Abdul Hafeez Sheikh. Gillani registered his victory from an Islamabad’s General seat.
After the upset defeat, where the government raised objections, the opposition won and demanded the resignation of the Prime Minister, following which the Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and other ministers gave a press briefing and said that the premier has decided to take a vote of confidence from parliament.
