Petrol, diesel prices likely to drop from May 1
The price of petrol and diesel is likely to decrease by Rs5 per liter and by Rs8 per liter respectively.

According to the details, after the reduction in the price of Brent crude in the international market, the price of petrol and diesel is likely to decrease by Rs5 per liter and by Rs8 per liter respectively.
The price of petrol may be decrease from Rs293.94 per liter to settle at Rs288 per liter and diesel price may be reduced by Rs8 per liter from Rs290.38 to be sold at the rate of Rs282.38 per liter from May 1, 2024.
Similarly, the price of kerosene may be fall by Rs8 per liter from Rs193.8 to cost at Rs185.5 and the light diesel oil rate may be decline by Rs5.37 from Rs174.34 to Rs168.97 per liter, reportedly.

SC to hear petition related to IHC judgesâ letter
The LHC Bar Association and Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan requested a judicial inquiry by the judges of the Supreme Court in the constitutional petitions.
Islamabad: The hearing of the petitions filed in the Supreme Court to investigate the allegations of interference in the judiciary by six judges of Islamabad High Court (IHC) will be heard at 11:30am today (Tuesday).
The bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa includes Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Jamal Khan Mandukhel, Justice Athar Minullah, Justice Musarat Hilali and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan. Justice Yahya Afridi had resigned from joining the bench in a two-page note.
It is pertinent to note that a petition filed by six members of the Pakistan Bar Council is related to joining as a party, demanding the formation of a commission of inquiry to investigate the allegations made in the letter of the High Court judges.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) Bar Association and Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan requested a judicial inquiry by the judges of the Supreme Court in the constitutional petitions. While the IHC Bar Association demanded an inquiry into the allegations, as did the Balochistan High Court (BHC) Bar Association and advocate Shahbaz Ali Khan Khosa.
In a petition, Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan, through his lawyer Khawaja Ahmed Hussain, appealed the Supreme Court to declare that the allegations of Justice (retd) Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, apart from the judges of the IHC, are proof that the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and its operatives have been involved in illegal attempts to influence the decisions of the IHC and District Judiciary in the federal capital. This is a development that needs a judicial investigation.
Justice (retd) Tasadduq Hussain Jillani had resigned from the chairmanship of the inquiry commission, after which the Supreme Court took suo motu notice.

Riyadh: An important meeting has been held between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
According to the details, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived at the royal palace especially to meet the Saudi Crown Prince, during which Federal Ministers Muhammad Aurangzeb, Dr. Musaddik Malik, Awais Khan Leghari and Attaullah Tarar accompanied him.
In the meeting between Shehbaz Sharif and Mohammed bin Salman, bilateral issues and the situation in the region were discussed. Both leaders have agreed to further increase cooperation in various fields.
The two leaders also expressed satisfaction over the progress made on the decisions of the meeting that held in Makkah. Speaking on the occasion, the premier Shehbaz stated: “Saudi Arabia has always helped Pakistan in difficult times”.
He thanked the Saudi Crown Prince for sending a high-level delegation led by the Saudi Foreign Minister and delegations regarding capital investment to Pakistan.
Sharif also acknowledged Crown Prince for the excellent hospitality and for organizing a comprehensive program on behalf of the Saudi ministers regarding Saudi investment in Pakistan.
