Pakistan refuses to provide bases to any foreign govt

Islamabad: The spokesperson of Foreign Office Thursday said that Pakistan will not provide bases to any foreign government.

Spokesperson of the Foreign Office, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, stated in the weekly briefing that Pakistan has good relations with the US and Iran, and will expand its relations with both countries in the national interest. The trilateral talks of Pakistan, China and Iran are important, the date of these talks has not been decided yet.

She added: “There are many channels of communication between Pakistan and Iran, and will continue the communication to increase cooperation with Iran”.

The talks between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia regarding investment in other sectors including energy are underway, the spokesperson of the Foreign Office continued.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch further said that the Indian network was active in South Asia for many decades, the Indian extrajudicial killing network has spread across the world. Pakistan has put the evidence of attacks by Indian agents before the world, Indian actions are illegal and a violation international law.

She continued to say that the world brought India to the dock for its actions, history repeated itself in February 2019. Indian leadership makes statements for political purposes. Zahra did not comment on the recent statement of the Indian Prime Minister.

The spokesperson of the Foreign Office further stated that Pakistan's forces and people are always ready to defend the country.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch also added that the Israeli aggression and blockade in Gaza is condemnable, Pakistan condemns the increasing aggression and illegal settlement by Israel, Pakistan reiterates its commitment to support the Palestinian people.

AI likely to risk 17% employment in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh: International consultants said that Artificial Intelligence (AT) could affect 17% of jobs in Saudi Arabia in the next three years.

According to Arab media, Najla Najam, professional business manager of an American consulting business company, stated that AI is expected not only to change the way people work, but it is also possible that it will replace people.

The experts suggested that 80% of jobs related to creative work can be affected by artificial intelligence, while 53% of executive positions are at risk from AI. An increase is also expected in the manufacturing sector by 10 to 30 percent over the next three years with the help of AI.

The study revealed that employees in the Middle East are more involved in productivity issues than in other countries, but it is also expected that organizations will train their employees to adapt them to the demands of the new era.

A large number of those affected by artificial intelligence will be people from the 90s to the 21st century whose jobs may be at risk.

Court adjourns hearing of Fawad Chaudhry till May 9

Later then the Court approved the plea of official lawyer

Lahore: The Lahore high court (LHC) has postponed the hearing of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry while giving his lawyer time for preparation the case till May 9. 

According to the details, chief justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed Khan heard the plea of Fawad Chaudhry regarding the attendance through video link in 36 cases. 

The applicant’s lawyer stated that the permission should be given to appear in the courts through video link. 

Chief justice questioned that in how many districts the cases are registered. On which the official lawyer replied that the cases are registered in four divisions. 

He remarked that a person has 36 cases against him so how can he appeared in courts at the same time. On which Fawad said that the total cases are 47 against him. 

Chief justice asked Fawad Chaudhry to sit peacefully and stop teasing him. 

The official lawyer said that there are more of the cases against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) founder Imran Khan. So, some time should be given to present the case law. 

Later then the Court approved the plea of official lawyer.
