Justice Muneeb swears-in as Acting CJP

Islamabad: Justice Muneeb Akhtar Saturday took oath as Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP).
According to the details, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, known for his legal acumen and dedication, will temporarily lead the judiciary during this period.
The swearing-in ceremony took place in the Supreme Court, where Justice Yahya Afridi administered the oath to Justice Muneeb.
Supreme Court judges, law officers and staff participated in the swearing-in ceremony.
The appointment of Justice Muneeb Akhtar as Acting Chief Justice will ensure continuity in the leadership of the Supreme Court.
It is pertinent to note that Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa is currently on an international tour with Justice Mansoor Ali Shah.
Justice Qazi Faez Isa will attend the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Chief Justices Conference in Azerbaijan. His departure signifies Pakistan's active engagement in international judicial cooperation and dialogue.
Justice Qazi Isa's participation in the international conference is seen as an important step in promoting judicial cooperation and enhancing the legal framework in the ECO region.
Their engagement at the conference aims to address common legal challenges and share insights on judicial practices among member states.

PM forms Economic Advisory Council

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Saturday formed the Economic Advisory Council (EAC).
Finance Division has issued notification of Economic Advisory Council.
According to the notification, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will head the Economic Advisory Council, the Economic Advisory Council includes Jahangir Tareen, Saqib Shirazi and Shahzad Saleem.
According to the notification issued, Musadik Zulqarnain, Dr. Ijaz Nabi, Asif Peer, Ziad Bashir and Salman Ahmed are also part of the advisory council.
Economic Advisory Council is a non-constitutional and independent body formed to economically advice to Government of Pakistan, specifically the Prime Minister.

Petition to probe Dubai Leaks via FIA, FBR
The court should order the FIA, NAB and other relevant institutions to investigate the Dubai leaks
Lahore: An application was filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) to conduct an investigation into the Dubai leaks by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) and National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The petition was filed in the High Court by citizen Mashkoor Hussain through Nadeem Sarwar Advocate, in which the Federal Government, NAB, FIA and others have been made parties.
In the petition, it was said that the names of many Pakistani politicians and businessmen appeared in the Dubai leaks. It is necessary for every politician to disclose all his domestic and foreign properties. The court should order the FIA, NAB and other relevant institutions to investigate the Dubai leaks.
The petition requested that an investigation should be conducted to ensure that the properties bought in Dubai were not done through money laundering, and that action be ordered against the owners if they were found to be illegal properties in Dubai.
