PPP nominates Kundi, Haider for KP, Punjab governorship

Islamabad: The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) disclosed that Faisal Karim Kundi and Sardar Salim Haider are poised to be appointed as Governors of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab, respectively, the sources said on Friday.
The sources confirmed that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has given his seal of approval to Sardar Salim Haider's nomination for the Governorship of Punjab. It is expected that the federal government will officially announce Sardar Salim Haider's appointment on Friday.
The PPP finalized its selections for these pivotal roles, and announcements regarding their appointments are anticipated in the near future.
Sardar Salim Haider, a former Member of the National Assembly elected from Attock on the PPP ticket in 2008, previously served as the Foreign Minister in the cabinets of Prime Ministers Yousuf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.
Similarly, Faisal Karim Kundi is anticipated to assume the role of Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Kundi, who served as Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly from 2008 to 2013, also held the position of Adviser to the Prime Minister in the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government.
It may be mentioned here that the decision to appoint governors from the PPP for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab was part of an agreement between the PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in their power-sharing arrangement preceding the formation of the federal government.

Lahore: The Twilight Saga star, Kristen Stewart is set to become vampire again 12 years after her iconic role in Stephen Meyer’s blockbuster.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 34-year-old actor will star alongside Oscar Isaac in the upcoming thriller film, Flesh of the Gods.
The film is planned against the backdrop of 1980’s Los Angeles nightlife and follows the narrative of a married couple, Raoul (Isaac) and Alex (Stewart), who spend a night out of their luxurious condo in Los Angeles. However, a surreal encounter with a strange woman named Nameless will lead them into a world of hedonism, excitement and danger.
The working on the project is expected to start in the ongoing year.

Lahore: The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) would be dismantled as part of restructuring Punjab’ education sector reforms, Punjab Education Minister Sikandar Hayat said on Friday. The minister also hinted at consolidating four distinct education institutions into a single entity.
Talking to a local news channel, he emphasised the merger of the textbook board, the Punjab Education Commission and teacher training institutions into one unified body, saying a department would be created under the leadership of the CM, including all four sectors.
Additionally, the curriculum development function would be integrated within this streamlined framework, Hayat said, adding that individuals from private institutions might also be included in the department.
The minister further said that the educators and stakeholders at all levels would be actively engaged.
