Death anniversary of Ashfaq Ahmed being observed today

LAHORE -- The 22nd death anniversary of renowned writer, playwright and broadcaster Ashfaq Ahmed is being observed today (Monday).
He was Born on August 22, 1925, in Ferozpur, British India.
Ashfaq Ahmed wrote dozens of TV dramas and hosted Radio Pakistan’s famous programme “Talqeen Shah” from 1962 until his death.
His acclaimed PTV plays included “Munchaley Ka Soda,” “Aik Mohabbat Sau Afsanay,” “Tota Kahani” and “Hairat Kada.” He also authored several books, including Zavia, Aik Mohabbat Sau Afsanay, Gadariya and Tota Kahani.
In recognition of his meritorious services, he was awarded the Pride of Performance and Sitara-i-Imtiaz for his contributions to literature and broadcasting.
Ashfaq Ahmed passed away on this day in 2004 in Lahore.
