State Bank announces new monetary policy, what Is the new interest rate?

According to details, the State Bank of Pakistan has officially declared on its website that there will be no change in the policy rate. The Monetary Policy Committee, in a meeting held on June 15 (today), decided to keep the policy rate unchanged.

The announcement of the new monetary policy was made after reviewing economic indicators. It is worth noting that the central bank had also kept the interest rate unchanged in the previous monetary policy decision.

According to economic experts, the decision to maintain the policy rate at its current level came just hours after the historic peace agreement between the United States and Iran. Expectations have clearly increased that this diplomatic development may reduce pressure on Pakistan’s external accounts, while a decline in global energy prices, particularly crude oil, could provide significant relief to the national economy.
