PM Shehbaz hails surge in foreign investment and revenue in Pakistan’s telecom sector

Islamabad: On the occasion of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif praised all professionals, experts, institutions, stakeholders, and international partners associated with Pakistan’s telecommunications sector for their professional dedication and contributions.
According to details, the Prime Minister stated that Pakistan’s digital infrastructure is rapidly advancing. The country’s technological assets now include more than 234,000 kilometers of fiber optic backbone, six modern submarine cables, 58,000 cellular towers, and over 20 advanced data centers. These facilities are providing high-quality digital services to 205 million users across the country.
The Prime Minister further said that Pakistan’s annual IT exports have reached $3.8 billion. Through IT and software technology parks, supporting infrastructure, and a young, tech-savvy workforce, Pakistan is strengthening its position as a global IT hub.
