Peshawar: The closure of the U.S. Consulate in Peshawar has been announced in phases.
According to the U.S. Department of State, the consulate in Peshawar will be shut down gradually.
The State Department stated that diplomatic responsibilities related to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be transferred to the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad.
It further explained that the decision was made in light of ensuring the safety of diplomatic staff and the effective use of resources.
