Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has met with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. The meeting took place after a session of the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt, where the regional situation was reviewed in the context of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

According to details, a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for Saudi Arabia. He appreciated Saudi Arabia’s extraordinary patience and restraint during the current crisis and assured that Pakistan would always stand by the Kingdom.

The statement added that the Prime Minister also mentioned his recent contacts with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, including their meeting in Jeddah on March 12. He briefed the Saudi Foreign Minister on Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in the current situation, including attempts to reduce tensions and bring the United States and Iran to the negotiating table.

According to the statement, the Prime Minister highlighted Saudi Arabia’s leadership role in the Muslim Ummah and stressed the need for unity among Islamic countries during this critical time.

On the other hand, the Saudi Foreign Minister thanked the Prime Minister and briefed him on Saudi Arabia’s position regarding the regional situation. During the meeting, both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia agreed to further strengthen mutual contacts and consultations to promote peace and stability in the region.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister conveyed his good wishes for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and special messages for Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, the National Security Advisor, and DG ISI Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik were also present during the meeting.
