PU's Dr Lubna Zaheer briefs Hamza Shahbaz on academic progress, future plans of Film & Broadcasting Department

Lahore: Prof. Dr. Lubna Zaheer, Chairperson of Punjab University's Film & Broadcasting Department, called on former Chief Minister Punjab Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and briefed him on the department’s academic progress, research output, and future roadmap.
According to sources, Dr. Lubna Zaheer provided a comprehensive overview of the department’s ongoing teaching initiatives, projects, and research activities aimed at strengthening media education in the country. She highlighted efforts to modernize the curriculum, promote critical and creative skills among students, and expand research in emerging areas of film, broadcasting, and digital media.
The chairperson also outlined future plans focused on enhancing industry-academia linkages, developing professional training opportunities, and equipping students with practical exposure to meet contemporary media demands.
Hamza Shahbaz Sharif appreciated the department’s contributions and underscored the importance of academic institutions in shaping a responsible and skilled media workforce. He assured Dr. Lubna Zaheer that the federal government would extend full support to the Film & Broadcasting Department as and when required.
