Pakistan Day is being celebrated across the country today with national enthusiasm; dignified guard-changing ceremony held at Iqbal’s Mausoleum

Web Desk: March 23 is a day to renew the pledge with the الوطن. Pakistan Day is being celebrated today across the country with great national zeal and enthusiasm, with various ceremonies being organized in different cities.

According to details, the day began with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21-gun salutes in provincial capitals. The air echoed with chants of “Allahu Akbar.” Special prayers were also offered in mosques after Fajr prayers for the safety and progress of the country and the nation.

However, in light of the ongoing tensions in the Middle East and due to austerity measures at the national level, Pakistan Day is being observed in a simple manner this year. The traditional parade for the day has been canceled.

In Lahore, the central flag-hoisting ceremony was held where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hoisted the national flag. Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar also attended the ceremony.

Guard-changing ceremony at Iqbal’s Mausoleum

On the occasion of Pakistan Day, a graceful guard-changing ceremony was held at Iqbal’s Mausoleum, where a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Air Force presented an impressive march past.

During the ceremony, the Pakistan Air Force took over the security duties of the mausoleum, which were previously handled by the Sutlej Rangers. The ceremony highlighted the significance of Pakistan Day and further strengthened the spirit of patriotism.

The chief guest on the occasion was Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Shahid Afzal, Air Officer Commanding of PAF Airmen Academy Korangi Creek.

On this occasion, the chief guest visited Iqbal’s Mausoleum, laid a floral wreath, offered Fateha, and later recorded his remarks in the visitors’ book.

Governor and Chief Minister Sindh visit Quaid’s Mausoleum

Meanwhile, in Karachi, Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori and Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah visited Quaid-e-Azam’s Mausoleum on Pakistan Day. Members of the Sindh cabinet also accompanied the Chief Minister.

On this occasion, both leaders laid floral wreaths at the mausoleum, offered Fateha, and later recorded their impressions in the visitors’ book.
